For as long as I can remember I have had a passion for both design and fashion. Being on the petite side meant that I either pay for alterations or learn how to sew. Fortunately I spent many Saturdays with my grandmother who was an amazing seamstress and she patiently taught me how. With that skill set, 15 years of contract textile/ furniture sales, and a lifetime creating apparel to suit my personal needs - Boot chic was conceived.
It all started in early 2008. I was heading out to Utah and I ran into a problem with my favorite ski pants - they didn't fit into my new boots. So off to the ski shops I went in search of a pant that would be flattering and work with the rest of my skiwear. Having no luck, I decided to alter my old tried and true pants - a few snips and several trips to the fabric supplier later culminated in what I have come to call Boot chic.
Off to Deer Valley, Utah I went confident that if I wasn't going to get down the mountain like a pro, I was at least going to look fabulous doing it! After several wipeouts and a few moments of prayer, I can honestly say that people were talking more about my fashionable Boot chic accessory than my powder dives on the mountain.
Each day, I would accessorize with a different Boot chic and, day after day, I would get stopped - whether it was in the lift line, on the slope or enjoying some much needed après-ski time in the lodge and asked where I had gotten my swanky Boot chic.
So, that's my story about how Boot chic came to be. I had a great time designing, creating and, of course, wearing them! I hope you will enjoy them as much as I have and that they give you the style you seek for the slopes, the lodge or just around town!!! Have fun with them and expect to be the envy of everyone.
I would love to hear from you and welcome pictures of you wearing Boot chic to share with other Boot chic fans.
